Sylvotherapy, or the forest bath !

Here is a definition of this nature therapy "therapy consisting of curing certain conditions by taking the patient into the forest to come into contact with the trees, by touching them and breathing the air. "

It has been proven that living near a green space reduces the probability of having heart problems, diabetes, hypertension...

Thus it is recommended to walk at least 30 minutes a day in the forest or in a park for city residents.

The best way to make yourself feel good and to drastically decrease stress hormones is to walk in the forest and/or meditate in order to awaken your 5 senses in this ecosystem.

This therapy comes to us straight from Japan, it is called "Shinrin-Yoku" which could literally be translated as "forest bath".

It is a widespread practice among the Japanese, it is intended to calm anxiety and reduce health problems through the benefits of contact with trees.

In fact, according to several studies, these walks allow a decrease in heart rate, an improvement in mood and emotional management, an increase in creativity, an increase in immune defenses...

Quartier Libre gives you some tips to make full use of your next forest bath :

- Connect to the present moment by turning off your phone,

- Wander aimlessly where your intuition leads you,

- Breathe deeply to take in all the smells,

- Raise your head to focus on the color and shape of the trees,

- Lifting your head to focus on the color and shape of the trees, listening to the sounds of animals, the cracking of footsteps on the ground, the wind passing through the leaves,

- Touch the trees, hold them close to feel their energy,

- End your walk by thanking nature for what it brings us.

Have a good walk !
